Exponent's Environmental & Earth Sciences Practice has scientists and engineers with expertise in a variety of disciplines, including analytical and environmental chemistry, atmospheric chemistry, bioavailability, environmental forensics, environmental liability and cost apportionment, global product stewardship, hydrogeology, regulatory compliance consulting, site investigation and remediation consulting, transport and fate modeling, and water resources and water quality management. In addition, our staff can draw on the knowledge and expertise of scientists, engineers, physicians, and business consultants specializing in more than 90 technical disciplines within Exponent.
We are currently seeking a Senior Managing/Principal Statistician for our Environmental & Earth Sciences Practice in our Boston, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Houston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Seattle area offices. The ideal candidate will be part of a national market. He/she must have a strong personal client following and have the desire to help the national and international Environmental & Earth Sciences Practice grow by attracting and hiring qualified staff, and by taking advantage of the current highly qualified staff and capabilities. Our clients come to Exponent for handling the most challenging problems; we do not typically provide commodity-type consulting work.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in high-level environmental consulting to law firms and industrial clients, with an emphasis on litigation support, expert witness testimony, planning and managing of complex environmental investigations and remediation, and strategic environmental and scientific consulting. Specifically, the candidate will serve as an internal and external consultant in the statistical analysis of environmental data. Expertise is required in the statistical analysis of large complex chemical data sets including the use of exploratory data methods including factor, cluster, principal component analysis, and positive matrix factorization; experimental design of sampling programs; regression analysis and analysis of variance; principal components analysis; and design of clear and creative graphical depiction of analytical results suitable for courtroom demonstratives. The successful candidate will have the ability to explain complex statistical analyses to a lay audience.
Qualifications for this position include:
M.S. in Statistics
Fifteen (or more) years of experience in environmental statistical consulting including experience as an expert witness
An outstanding reputation among clients for integrity, responsiveness, and technical expertise
Experience as an expert witness
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
