Network Engineer
We currently have an opportunity to join our team as a Network Engineer at Natick, MA in support of our government customer. Please read below the responsibilities and requirements for this position. Description
Candidate assigned to this position should be able to perform the following duties.
Data Networks:
candidate must have knowledge of and experience with installing, managing/maintaining and troubleshooting data network systems; including Gigabit Ethernet, switching, hubs, routing, wireless technology, protocols, and protocol analyzers, as required.
Firewall Support:
candidate will provide installation, configuration and troubleshooting support for firewall equipment.
Technical Expertise:
candidate will provide technical expertise to accomplish surveys, analysis, evaluations and resolutions pertaining to the performance and functionality of customer backbone infrastructure.
Tasking:
successful candidate will receive tasking from the customer IT service desk requiring rapid detection/resolution of failures, network/system operation, routine network installation/replacement, network database updating, ID/password administration, coordination with users, administrators and security personnel.
Project Documentation:
candidate shall maintain complete and accurate network hardware/software configuration documentation.
Requirements Analysis:
assist in formulating/defining system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding.
Job Requirements
U. S. Citizenship
Secret Clearance or ability to qualify for one
Experience with Cisco, Nortel/Avaya, Brocade, Juniper and Aruba network management equipment
2 - 5 years of direct hands-on experience with configuration and administration of firewalls, routers and switches
Baseline security and computer environment certifications will be required
